Scrapapple BAP

Hey hey..
So I am really liking the 'Build-a-page' LO's that I've been creating with my local group of ladies...
Our very first BAP LO had 8 steps that needed to be done and each of us that wanted to play along took it in turns to add a step that each of us had to follow before we started the next step, so below I have listed the steps and my end result for the challenge...

1. Use a stencil, template or stamps on the background of your LO covering the entire space. Also add a border.
2. Add your own embellies, no brought ones. Also add some chipboard.
3. Add your pic but layer it 5-6 times with different papers from your scrap stash.
4. Add a sticker.
5. Add a title but only use numerals for eg. 7.7.13 or 10...
6. Make a tag embellishment for your journalling.
7. Use the colour yellow.
8. Use a technique you haven't used for a long time, for eg. heat embossing, flocking, stamping, gold leaf whatever tickles your fancy. (my step)
My LO is of my precious lil girl posing for a series of pics but I absolutely loved this one...such spark she really does light up my life!!! Love her to the moon and back...

P.s I'll be back in a few days with my challenge entry for SUYS ;)

Aug colour chall at SFS...

Now these are my types of colours!! BRIGHTS!!! This challenge you had to use the colours: yellow, orange, red, blue and green...black and white in small portions too..
I started with a cream piece of cardstock and smeared on some gesso then dried it with the heat gun and pulled out my dylusions ink sprays and realized I hadn't received the lemon zest one I had ordered so I made my own yellow mist by mixing some yellow acrylic paint and water together in a spritzer and BAM, nailed it!!! Was the perfect colour that I wanted and on went all the others pretty randomly and enough for them to each pool a little in which I let dry a little then I stood the paper up and tapped it on my table a few times to get the drips happening down my page and then I left it over night to dry completely... Using my mesh/graph stamp and some black staton ink I then randomly stamped the background here and there for extra dimension...
Fussy cutting around my photos and making my own arrows and Polaroid allowed me to add extra colour but I didn't want to cover up to much of my inked background so I rummaged through my scraps and found this piece of acetate and it was perfect as you can still see the colours popping through and I loved that!!
From "D-Lish Scraps" I have used some washi tape, 2x flair buttons and some freckled fawn enamel dots... I've also added a "Charms creations" lollipop and denim tie....love them goodies!! I hope you like my LO and please leave me a comment...

TFL happy scrapping Em ;) xo

Aug sketch & quote chall at SFS...

So this sketch is right up my alley and as I had just gotten some photos developed from pixie photos I had two that I really wanted to scrap and to kick it off I scrapped my boy in charms sketch using some bits and pieces I've collected and kept in safe keeping such as the ribbon with a knot in it that I got off a paper bag at a fundraiser I went to a few years back and the brown paper bag with the chevron print on it I got as a gift bag from a recent SU launch party I attended...I loved it and couldn't bring myself yo throw it away and the added bonus of it being somewhere to put my hidden journalling....Winning I think sooooo!! The wooden frame is from freckled fawn which I purchased from "D-Lish Scraps" along with the tiny resin rose...I love that store...I've added a "charms creations" page runner that I had planned to use on another LO but I liked it here so fingers crossed I get another one of them it's pretty cool....

The quote definitely fits the picture on my next LO of my beautiful princess and the other picture I had picked out to use from our pixie photo shoot... The quote being "A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear" and isn't it ever!!! Such a beauty inside and out!!! Very basic LO but I have used a template "cherry blossom" from TCW and texture paste in which I heat set a pink polka dot doily & 2 pins from "D-Lish scraps"...a "Charms creations" lush lollipop and lots of scrap pieces of paper that seems never ending, I'm sure it multiplies overnight lol.....
TFL. happy scrapping Em ;) xo

ScrapApple BAP...CRAFT class LO mixed media

So I frequent a lil craft group on every second Friday and they asked me if I would like to do a mixed media type class and well of course I said YES!! Only being new to it all myself I was a lil anxious about trying to show a bunch of lovelies how to "get messy"...so a couple of days leading up to the class I spent choosing my colours then spritzing, spraying and giving my LO some texture...using dylusions ink spray and glimmer mist on the base and leaving it to dry overnight then adding some jo sonjas texture paste using my studio calico chevron template I then heat set it dry so I could move things along quickly... I stamped a couple of graph images onto my background for further dimension some washi tape and added the title (which are stickers I brought from kaisercraft a few years back and have decided I need to use them up but I traced around them with my black pen to give it a bit of a boost as they seemed to be blending into the background a bit too much)...the next step was to do a stitched border so I trimmed my white card stock down and stitched a bling bit of card stock to it to keep the shimmer thing happening...my step was to add some bling a brad or some sequins in which I used a long strip of aqua rhinestones from kaisercraft that I cut into intervals and gave a chevron effect with them, which I love!!! Other steps included layering the photo and using some material in which I have used some of "charms creations" gorgeous embellishments such as a super star a page runner and a lollipop...finally I stuck it all down and wallah!!!
I LOVE IT!! TFL
Happy scrapping Em ;) xo

July colour chall at SFS....

Charms colour challenge this month over at SFS was: aqua blue, teal, robins egg blue and white - black and brown could also be used...again I think I went a bit off course here using grey here and there but I absolutely love this LO, I have scrapped this picture in my earlier years of scrapbooking and I was disappointed with it as a stamp I used on the back ground didn't stamp properly and I just wasn't happy with it but I did do it in similar colours so I'm happy that I can now replace the one in my old album with new LO and be happy with it...love this lil guy to bits!!!

July sketch chall at SFS...

So this sketch challenge was set by Donna and I'm pretty sure I ventured of course with it but I did round my corners which I never ever do so there is one element lol...
Screaming Sheila is what we used to call our daughter when she would cry and so I used it on my LO and I think the photo shows just how much effort she would put into being upset... Lol she probably won't enjoy the lo's I've done of her when she's a little older but all the more reason to bring them out on special occasions hahahaha ----*insert evil laugh here*----
We love her to bits and wouldn't have wanted her any other way...
TFL happy scrapping

July quote chall 4 SFS...

Hey hey....so here is the LO I entered and I really have been trying to add a lot more washi tape onto my LO's as I have an addiction to it and therefore I have accumulated quite a collection of more than 130 rolls....Cray Cray!! I know right....anyhow on my black card stock I layered a few strips of washi in different varieties then I grabbed my AC studio calico sundrifter template and using texture paste I added a good layer of it and after removing the template I hit it with my heat gun and WOW what an awesome effect...the texture paste basically had a balloon effect under it and then I just pushed it back onto the page with my fingers to get the rippled effect, I thought this was totally awesome!! I layered my pic onto 2 different colours of card to mat it and added it to my LO with a prima flower, 2x resin flowers from D-Lish, a brad from a kit I got a looooong time ago I think it was from crate paper, a pink page runner from charms creations and using AC thickers and my handwriting I added the quote which was "family where life begins & love never ends"....this quote fitted perfectly for the pic and the end result was fantastic...TFL
Cheers Em x ;)

Sorry peeps...

I have a lot of LO's to show so I will post them here over the next few days, sorry for being slack but life's a little hectic and I've been unwell so unfortunately I have not been keeping up with my blog....
My new years resolution was to do at least 3 online challenges (SFS monthly's) per month and as I have done that I'm pretty happy to say I've done 40+ since November 2012 YAY!!! The Easter crop that was held over at SFS was a big week where I managed to punch out 11 LO's...& I loved it!!!
Maybe next years resolution might have to be that I must upload a LO or at least blog once a wk, I will only have one baby at home as my girl starts prep next year :(...
I must say even in the last 10 months my scrapbooking has evolved and in every challenge I have done I love the end result and it becomes my new favourite LO..
I'll be back shortly with some LO's for you to enjoy and get some inspiration from... TFL
Cheers Em ;) x

Jun sketch chall for SFS...

I'm finding the more sketches I do the more I love them!!! If they appeal to me I find them easier to do too...
I chose 'Time flies' as the title of my LO as it was like the past 11months had flown by...the aeroplane paper is actually acetate and I'm loving acetate at the moment...I've used a 3pk of Charms banners and a lovely lollipop...basic LO but effective..
TFL cheers Em x;)

June quote challenge for SFS...

So the quote was perfect for my LO this month. Making some memories celebrating our beautiful lil girls belated birthday and our first trip to The Great Australian Zoo...
This months quote: "The best thing about memories, is making them..."
loving the arrows and chevrons right now and especially charms chevrons which I have scattered over the page rather than putting them all together but I must admit I got this idea from Charm herself and loved it!!
TFL cheers Em x;)

June colour chall for SFS...

So this months colour combo was Red, teal, pink and yellow...to be honest I actually started this LO months ago but lost my scrapjo as to do what with it...when I saw this colour combo I realized I was just missing some yellow, so on went the drops of paint the flowers, a Charms creations yellow heavenly heart and yellow American crafts thickers that are foam/glitter and gorgeous!! The quote i used on this LO was a challenge set by Noel's over at scrapapples "How do you spell love?"-piglet "You don't spell it you feel it...."-pooh...
Love this LO it turned out way better than I anticipated...just wish my hand writing was much nicer..:(
TFL cheers Em x;)

P.S. Have you ever given an old LO a facelift or finished one you lost the mojo to complete?

May sketch chall set by Charm at SFS..

So for this challenge I used a pic of my lil man at the pool. Our local scrapapples challenge was to do a boys page using either pink or purple or both...so again I put the 2 on one LO..
I have used my new motex label machine from D-lish and I love it!!!
The white card stock I used an alphabet template and got my 4yr old daughter to use the colours pink purple and black to create my background and I think she done an awesome job!!! The chevrons are made by Charms creations and I'm in love with all her goodies...ever since I've started buying them I haven't scrapped a page without a bit of her gorgeous handmade embellishment...
TFL cheers Em x;)

May quote chall for SFS...

Unfortunately I didn't have a picture of all my beautiful amazing girlfriends together as I regard them all to be my sisters, I am so lucky to have each and everyone of them in my life...
This pic is close to my heart and I really love these 2 chics so the quote was perfect for this LO...
The quote was: my girlfriends are the sisters I picked out for myself...
TFL cheers Em x;)

May colour chall for SFS...

I absolutely loved this colour combo being navy blue, teal, dark pink, light pink and I added white...I have been wanting to do this sketch for a long time and as it was our local scrapapples sketch challenge this month set by Sherrena then I just decided I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone lol...totally love the end result...
TFL cheers Em x;)

April sketch challenge....us

Hey guys this LO I have done I think is one of my favourites as I rarely scrap a pic of my hubby and I and it's minimal but packs a punch I reckon... I really have started liking grey with any other colour, in this case black and teal not to mention chevrons and arrows are right in at the moment too...TFL ;) cheers Em x
PS: the flair on this page was originally white with black script on it but to make it work on this LO I simply used some grey ink and coloured it in ;);)

April quote challenge...boy LO

"Life is a series of thousands of tiny miracles" was the quote we had to use on the LO some where...this sketch I have wanted to do for sometime now and I challenged myself to use orange and green but still wanted another colour to tie it all together so I chose cobolt blue and I think it worked perfectly...on this LO I also handmade the little "play hard" glass cabochon cameo simply by hot glueing the cameo onto my LO then using the play hard sticker from my collection of bits I stuck inside the cameo I then used a drop of dimensional magic to adhere the glass cabochon and let dry then wallah!! A hand made embellishment and in this case it totally made the page!! TFL ;) cheers Em x

April's colour challenge..

Chocolate, red, black and white...my take another boys LO and pretty happy how it turned out...I have used a cardboard cylinder from a roll of garbage bags and some acrylic paint to create the white rings on the background to break up all that brown cardstock...a technique I'll be using again for sure....;) TFL cheers Em x

SFS Sketch for March I forgot to blog....

This sketch was awesome and I live love love the LO I created using it...I don't like to change a sketch around to much, usually if I like a sketch I just do it but if I don't particularly like it then I struggle to stick to it and tend to venture off into my own lil world lol... So here it is TFL cheers Em x;)

Ooops...forgot to post my entries into the SFS March challenges...

So the colour challenge was to use Kraft, green, peach, red/orange and cream....the papers/scraps of paper I have used on this LO were from Kaisercraft..using a pic of my girl sleeping and documenting the fact she has beautiful long lashes...a chocolate pearl flourish and charms creations chocolate super star really make this page pop!
The quote for this month was "Every summer has a story" and the LO I created a few weeks earlier just needed something and this quote fitted perfectly....ice creams and swimming on a hot summers day is what it's all about....love lazy summer days like this!!
TFL cheers Em x;)

TFL Em x;)

Easter crop-a-thon @ SFS Sunday challenges..

So the quote challenge was to pick one from three and they were all from winnie the pooh...I chose "sometimes, 'said pooh,' the smallest things take up the most room in your heart"...it's a LO of my princess in my favourite outfit for her as a baby....love.....
The next challenge was the sketch and I have been putting this pic of my hubby and I aside on my scrap table for a while now and decided I would definately use it during the crop-a-thon if I had time....and hoorah I did...I'm also trying to use up my sticker collection too which is going pretty good but I have hardly put a dint in it lol...

Another sfs entry

Bonus challenge no.1was to use a pic of yourself and the quote 'be yourself, everyone else is taken..'I thought this pic of myself was the perfect one and I only have a few good selfies of myself as I'm usually behind the camera ;);)
On this LO I have used leftover rubons, some lovely chevron acetate, washi tape/resin flowers/love flair from D-lish, a Charms creations super star and handmade flower with a few splatters and a bit of bling the LO is complete...I love it!!
TFL cheers Em x;)

Easter crop-a-thon @ SFS...

SFS Quote Chall Feb 2013

So the quote was "so blessed to have you in my life"....I had this picture sitting on my scrap table for a couple of wks when the quote was announced and I knew as soon as I read it that this pic was the exact one I needed....I love the photo and it took me a while to decide what colours I wanted to use on this layout...the back ground paper was one I had stored for quite some time, I have no idea what brand it is even but I liked it a lot...then the banners I hand cut them all and inked them to suit the LO...then the quote??? Hmmmmm...well I had some pale yellow fabric thickers in my stash that I would never (ever) use as I'm a lover of brights...so I grabbed my inks and started inking them all with colours to tie into my background paper and I must say I think all those thickers will be used up quite quickly and maybe I will buy more afterall (to do the same thing with over and over ;);)...) a few paint drops and a gorgeous purple charms runner and woot woot baby I love, love, love the end result...
TFL love Em xo ;)

SFS sketch chall from Charm for Feb...

This was my take on the sketch challenge over at SFS...I love how all these colours and elements all came together and a dash of doodling really makes this LO amazing...This LO features a pic of my beautiful lil girl which at the moment insist on pulling all these crazy faces whenever I ask her to smile for a picture lol...hence the title being "crazy little thing, called love"...a song title...one of my favorites too...
TFL cheers Em x;)

Sfs colour challenge for Feb 2013!!

Ok so the colour challenge was red, green and craft...I have submitted 2 LO's for this challenge this month...

"Got my suck on" quote came from teenagers these days refer to the hand gesture my boy is doing as "Rock on" so I altered it a lil lol...again with the washi tape background and hidden journalling card behind the bottom photo, I really like this LO as I am a lover I bright colours...
My next LO was a pic taken Christmas 2011 and it's probably the only good one from that year as we had a new puppy in the house and we couldn't keep the kids still long enough to pose for photos lol...I have used glimmer mists and distressed my pattern papers and I'm a huge fan of Charms Creations and they are making their way onto all of my LO's ATM and I'm also loving ACETATE what a great way to add another element!!! Hope you enjoy today's blog...
TFL much love Em x;)

Hey fellow scrappers,
Well this blog I'm posting my take for challenges over at scrapbooking from scratch-January challenges...I loved all these challenges and of course the end results were amazing, particularly the sketch LO being the yellow one I LOVE IT!! The quote one is my next favourite bring that I don't often scrap a page of my hubby and I but the quote fitted the picture perfectly "be in love with your life, every minute of it"...the third LO is of my precious lil angel and I absolutely love this pic of her but this LO just doesn't seem to feel right I'm not sure what it is but yeah I think I might have to adjust it one day lol....

Sooooooo, it's been a while....:/

Sorry guys I have been super slack with my blogging but a new year has snuck past and I can't believe we're already into February, OMG times flying!!!
