Scrapapple BAP

Hey hey..
So I am really liking the 'Build-a-page' LO's that I've been creating with my local group of ladies...
Our very first BAP LO had 8 steps that needed to be done and each of us that wanted to play along took it in turns to add a step that each of us had to follow before we started the next step, so below I have listed the steps and my end result for the challenge...

1. Use a stencil, template or stamps on the background of your LO covering the entire space. Also add a border.
2. Add your own embellies, no brought ones. Also add some chipboard.
3. Add your pic but layer it 5-6 times with different papers from your scrap stash.
4. Add a sticker.
5. Add a title but only use numerals for eg. 7.7.13 or 10...
6. Make a tag embellishment for your journalling.
7. Use the colour yellow.
8. Use a technique you haven't used for a long time, for eg. heat embossing, flocking, stamping, gold leaf whatever tickles your fancy. (my step)
My LO is of my precious lil girl posing for a series of pics but I absolutely loved this one...such spark she really does light up my life!!! Love her to the moon and back...
TFL Em x;)
P.s I'll be back in a few days with my challenge entry for SUYS ;)

Aug colour chall at SFS...

Now these are my types of colours!! BRIGHTS!!! This challenge you had to use the colours: yellow, orange, red, blue and green...black and white in small portions too..
I started with a cream piece of cardstock and smeared on some gesso then dried it with the heat gun and pulled out my dylusions ink sprays and realized I hadn't received the lemon zest one I had ordered so I made my own yellow mist by mixing some yellow acrylic paint and water together in a spritzer and BAM, nailed it!!! Was the perfect colour that I wanted and on went all the others pretty randomly and enough for them to each pool a little in which I let dry a little then I stood the paper up and tapped it on my table a few times to get the drips happening down my page and then I left it over night to dry completely... Using my mesh/graph stamp and some black staton ink I then randomly stamped the background here and there for extra dimension...
Fussy cutting around my photos and making my own arrows and Polaroid allowed me to add extra colour but I didn't want to cover up to much of my inked background so I rummaged through my scraps and found this piece of acetate and it was perfect as you can still see the colours popping through and I loved that!!
From "D-Lish Scraps" I have used some washi tape, 2x flair buttons and some freckled fawn enamel dots... I've also added a "Charms creations" lollipop and denim tie....love them goodies!! I hope you like my LO and please leave me a comment...

TFL happy scrapping Em ;) xo

Aug sketch & quote chall at SFS...

So this sketch is right up my alley and as I had just gotten some photos developed from pixie photos I had two that I really wanted to scrap and to kick it off I scrapped my boy in charms sketch using some bits and pieces I've collected and kept in safe keeping such as the ribbon with a knot in it that I got off a paper bag at a fundraiser I went to a few years back and the brown paper bag with the chevron print on it I got as a gift bag from a recent SU launch party I attended...I loved it and couldn't bring myself yo throw it away and the added bonus of it being somewhere to put my hidden journalling....Winning I think sooooo!! The wooden frame is from freckled fawn which I purchased from "D-Lish Scraps" along with the tiny resin rose...I love that store...I've added a "charms creations" page runner that I had planned to use on another LO but I liked it here so fingers crossed I get another one of them it's pretty cool....

The quote definitely fits the picture on my next LO of my beautiful princess and the other picture I had picked out to use from our pixie photo shoot... The quote being "A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear" and isn't it ever!!! Such a beauty inside and out!!! Very basic LO but I have used a template "cherry blossom" from TCW and texture paste in which I heat set a pink polka dot doily & 2 pins from "D-Lish scraps"...a "Charms creations" lush lollipop and lots of scrap pieces of paper that seems never ending, I'm sure it multiplies overnight lol.....
TFL. happy scrapping Em ;) xo

ScrapApple BAP...CRAFT class LO mixed media

So I frequent a lil craft group on every second Friday and they asked me if I would like to do a mixed media type class and well of course I said YES!! Only being new to it all myself I was a lil anxious about trying to show a bunch of lovelies how to "get messy"...so a couple of days leading up to the class I spent choosing my colours then spritzing, spraying and giving my LO some texture...using dylusions ink spray and glimmer mist on the base and leaving it to dry overnight then adding some jo sonjas texture paste using my studio calico chevron template I then heat set it dry so I could move things along quickly... I stamped a couple of graph images onto my background for further dimension some washi tape and added the title (which are stickers I brought from kaisercraft a few years back and have decided I need to use them up but I traced around them with my black pen to give it a bit of a boost as they seemed to be blending into the background a bit too much)...the next step was to do a stitched border so I trimmed my white card stock down and stitched a bling bit of card stock to it to keep the shimmer thing happening...my step was to add some bling a brad or some sequins in which I used a long strip of aqua rhinestones from kaisercraft that I cut into intervals and gave a chevron effect with them, which I love!!! Other steps included layering the photo and using some material in which I have used some of "charms creations" gorgeous embellishments such as a super star a page runner and a lollipop...finally I stuck it all down and wallah!!!
I LOVE IT!! TFL
Happy scrapping Em ;) xo

July colour chall at SFS....

Charms colour challenge this month over at SFS was: aqua blue, teal, robins egg blue and white - black and brown could also be used...again I think I went a bit off course here using grey here and there but I absolutely love this LO, I have scrapped this picture in my earlier years of scrapbooking and I was disappointed with it as a stamp I used on the back ground didn't stamp properly and I just wasn't happy with it but I did do it in similar colours so I'm happy that I can now replace the one in my old album with new LO and be happy with it...love this lil guy to bits!!!

July sketch chall at SFS...

So this sketch challenge was set by Donna and I'm pretty sure I ventured of course with it but I did round my corners which I never ever do so there is one element lol...
Screaming Sheila is what we used to call our daughter when she would cry and so I used it on my LO and I think the photo shows just how much effort she would put into being upset... Lol she probably won't enjoy the lo's I've done of her when she's a little older but all the more reason to bring them out on special occasions hahahaha ----*insert evil laugh here*----
We love her to bits and wouldn't have wanted her any other way...
TFL happy scrapping

July quote chall 4 SFS...

Hey hey....so here is the LO I entered and I really have been trying to add a lot more washi tape onto my LO's as I have an addiction to it and therefore I have accumulated quite a collection of more than 130 rolls....Cray Cray!! I know right....anyhow on my black card stock I layered a few strips of washi in different varieties then I grabbed my AC studio calico sundrifter template and using texture paste I added a good layer of it and after removing the template I hit it with my heat gun and WOW what an awesome effect...the texture paste basically had a balloon effect under it and then I just pushed it back onto the page with my fingers to get the rippled effect, I thought this was totally awesome!! I layered my pic onto 2 different colours of card to mat it and added it to my LO with a prima flower, 2x resin flowers from D-Lish, a brad from a kit I got a looooong time ago I think it was from crate paper, a pink page runner from charms creations and using AC thickers and my handwriting I added the quote which was "family where life begins & love never ends"....this quote fitted perfectly for the pic and the end result was fantastic...TFL
Cheers Em x ;)

Sorry peeps...

I have a lot of LO's to show so I will post them here over the next few days, sorry for being slack but life's a little hectic and I've been unwell so unfortunately I have not been keeping up with my blog....
My new years resolution was to do at least 3 online challenges (SFS monthly's) per month and as I have done that I'm pretty happy to say I've done 40+ since November 2012 YAY!!! The Easter crop that was held over at SFS was a big week where I managed to punch out 11 LO's...& I loved it!!!
Maybe next years resolution might have to be that I must upload a LO or at least blog once a wk, I will only have one baby at home as my girl starts prep next year :(...
I must say even in the last 10 months my scrapbooking has evolved and in every challenge I have done I love the end result and it becomes my new favourite LO..
I'll be back shortly with some LO's for you to enjoy and get some inspiration from... TFL
Cheers Em ;) x
